January 7, 2005 (Newport Beach, CA) - The Professional Coin Grading Service
(PCGS) today announced that Jason W. Bradford has been named the Director of its
new Currency Grading division. This latest initiative will provide independent,
third-party authentication and grading for both large and small size U.S.
currency as well as Nationals, Fractionals and Confederate notes.
PCGS
Founder and President David Hall added: "The new division will operate under the
well-known and respected PCGS name. For over eighteen years, the PCGS logo has
stood for the absolute finest in independent, unbiased grading. With the
widespread crossover between rare coin and currency dealers, we decided to
extend the brand to paper money."
"We've been discussing this possibility
for several years, Hall added. "Recently, we've noticed an increase in the
demand from both the dealer and collector community for a third party grading
service. We feel the time is right to launch this initiative."
Collectors
Universe Senior Vice President Michael W. Sherman commented: "Jason Bradford is
the protégé of some of the top currency experts in the world. He has solid
credentials and is highly regarded by the dealer community. We are extremely
fortunate to be able to add Jason to our staff because he is the ideal person to
lead the PCGS Currency Grading division."
The PCGS Currency Grading
division will begin accepting submissions within the next 60 days.
