Series 1950E was one of the shortest Federal Reserve Note series, printed for only three districts: New York, Chicago, and San Francisco. Collecting an example of each district/denomination pairing can be done with only marginal difficulty. Many of the regular issues are obtainable in uncirculated condition, with some of the higher denominations from Chicago and San Francisco becoming tougher. Star notes present two challenges: districts from the smaller denominations can be obtained with relative ease, while the higher denominations, owing to smaller printings from Chicago and San Francisco, present a more difficult task of acquisition.
